Set within the historic former U.S. Embassy building in Mayfair, the Chancery Rosewood London officially opened its doors in September 2025, marking a new chapter for this iconic mid-century modern landmark. Developed by Qatari Diar Europe LLP, this £1 billion project transformed the Grade II-listed 1960s structure, designed by acclaimed architect Eero Saarinen, into a premier luxury hotel destination featuring 144 all-suite accommodations.

Four Chimneys, One Ambition

For decades, Battersea Power Station stood silent—its four white chimneys rising above the Thames like sentinels of a lost industrial age. Decommissioned in 1983, the structure decayed behind locked gates while London changed around it.
Today, the chimneys smoke again—only this time, with steam from cafés, cinemas, and the heat of human energy.

The Stakes of Reinvention

When the excavators first tore into the familiar contours of Leidsenhage Shopping Center, few could have imagined the scale of the metamorphosis about to unfold. Beneath the cranes and scaffolding in Leidschendam-Voorburg, on the western edge of the Randstad, a €570 million experiment in urban reinvention was taking shape.

Tucked into Portugal’s sun-bleached Alentejo region—better known for cork oaks and Roman ruins than copper veins—sits one of Europe’s most quietly consequential mining operations. The Neves-Corvo mine, operated by Boliden Somincor, runs deep—both literally and figuratively. Beneath its 600-meter shaft lies not only a vast reservoir of copper and zinc but also the infrastructure, innovation, and intent to help shape Europe’s low-carbon future.

“Our goal was to redefine what a waste-to-energy plant could be,” says Jacob Simonsen, CEO of ARC, the company that operates Copenhill. “We wanted to show that sustainability and urban living are not mutually exclusive and can even be fun.”

SYSTRA, a global leader in engineering and consulting for public transport and mobility solutions, has secured a significant contract for the design of a new road tunnel in southwest Norway, near Arendal.

Project History

The Seine-Nord Europe Canal Project, a vision nearly five decades in the making, represents one of the most ambitious and transformative infrastructure initiatives in Europe. The project's origins trace back to the limitations of the Canal du Nord, a narrow-gauge waterway completed in the 1960s. Even at the time of its completion, the Canal du Nord was deemed insufficient for the growing transport needs due to its limited capacity.
