H├®roux-Devtek clinches $16 million deal


Canadian aerospace specialist H├®roux-Devtek has announced that it has won orders worth $16 million to supply landing gear components for large US air force and US navy aircraft.  The Longueuil-based company said that production will be spread across the next four years, with deliveries starting in the fiscal year 2011. The orders are mainly for five aircraft, including the B-1B, C-130 Hercules transport, C-5 transport and P-3 surveillance planes. Landing gear design,┬áproduction and repair and maintenance forms the core of H├®roux-Devtek's business, though it does also manufacture airframe structural parts. The company also has an industrial products segment, which manufactures large power generation components and precision components for other industrial applications. The companyÔÇÖs main aerospace clients are within the commercial and military sectors.┬áAbout 65 percent of the companyÔÇÖs sales are outside Canada, mainly in the US.┬áThe company has facilities in the Greater Montreal area (Longueuil, Dorval, Laval and Rivi├¿re-des-Prairies); Kitchener and Toronto, Ontario; Arlington, Texas; as well as Springfield, Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio. Commenting on the deal, Gilles Labb├®, president and CEO of H├®roux-Devtek, said: "These contracts expressively highlight the strength of the military aerospace market.
