Just over two decades ago, I had the privilege of working with Jack Grayson, then Chairman of the American Productivity and Quality Center, on an initiative that resulted in the founding of the International Benchmarking Clearinghouse. One of the many things I learned from working with Jack on this subject was summed up in a statement that “Most business problems are only new to the individual facing them”.

Created by the joint efforts of researchers at the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) in Lima and advertising agency Mayo Peru DraftFCB, the panel produces water from humidity in the air via the use of filters.

UTEC says it wanted to put "imagination into action" and show that it is possible to solve people's problems through engineering and technology. So far, the billboard has produced over 9,000 litres of drinking water, the equivalent of 96 litres a day.

The two drill holes in question are 185 metres apart and were drilled from west to east intersecting the Director Vein structure. Both returned assay values of 80.12 percent CaF2 over 3.95 metres in hole DS-13-100 and 51.94 percent CaF2 over 13.39 metres in hole DS-13ÔÇÉ101.


Over recent years, Cortez Hills has yielded well over a million ounces of gold annually, in the first quarter of last year at a cash cost of $308 an ounce, well below industry averages of between $400 and $500. Wednesday 30th January 2013 was a particular significant date for Canada Fluorspar Inc (CFI). It was on this day that the company proudly announced the results of a newly completed Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) for its St Lawrence fluorspar project in Newfoundland.

Historically used in aluminium production, protective clothing containing Kevlar, Teflon for non-stick frying pans, and refrigerants and air conditioning, fluorspar is a halide mineral of increasing importance, specifically when it comes to new manufacturing technologies.
