Monadelphous Secures A$160M in New Contracts and Extensions Across Western Australia

Australian engineering group, Monadelphous, secures key contracts worth A$160 million in Western Australia.

Monadelphous Group has strengthened its position in the Australian engineering and construction sectors by securing a series of new contracts and extensions valued at approximately A$160 million (USD 106.99 million). These projects span Rio Tinto, South32, and Iluka Resources in Western Australia (WA), further highlighting Monadelphous' expertise in delivering top-tier industrial services across the resources and infrastructure sectors.

Rio Tinto Contracts: Fixed Plant Maintenance and Capital Projects

Monadelphous received two one-year contract extensions from Rio Tinto for fixed plant maintenance services and sustaining capital projects across Rio Tinto’s extensive iron ore operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. In addition, Monadelphous was awarded a contract for fabrication, supply, installation, and commissioning at Rio Tinto's Tom Price mine, with the project scheduled for completion by mid-2025.

South32 Contract: Worsley Alumina Operations in Western Australia

Monadelphous has also secured a new three-year contract with South32, covering minor project works at Worsley Alumina's operations in Western Australia. This comes on the heels of last month’s extension of its maintenance and shutdown services contract for the same site. Monadelphous has provided services to Worsley Alumina for nearly two decades, reinforcing its long-standing partnership.

Iluka Resources Contract: Eneabba Rare Earths Refinery Project

In another significant win, Monadelphous' fabrication division, Inteforge, has been contracted to supply and fabricate structural steelwork and pipe racks for Iluka Resources’ Eneabba Rare Earths Refinery Project in Western Australia. This project is expected to be completed by mid-2025, further expanding Monadelphous' footprint in the emerging rare earths sector.

Monadelphous’ Industry Expertise and Continued Growth

With over 50 years of experience, Monadelphous has solidified its role as a leading provider of construction, maintenance, and industrial services within Australia’s resources, energy, and infrastructure sectors. This latest A$160 million contract acquisition builds on its previous successes. In October 2023, the company secured contracts worth A$170 million, including structural, mechanical, and piping works for Lynas Rare Earths’ Mt Weld Expansion Project—a world-class rare earth deposit located in WA’s Goldfields region.

Future Outlook for Monadelphous in the Resources and Energy Sectors

As demand for critical infrastructure and resource development projects grows, Monadelphous is well-positioned to maintain its growth trajectory. These new contracts in WA signal the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting Australia's most critical mining and infrastructure projects. Monadelphous continues to demonstrate its ability to deliver large-scale engineering solutions, ensuring efficiency, safety, and sustainability across all its operations.

By securing these high-profile contracts with Rio Tinto, South32, and Iluka, Monadelphous further cements its reputation as a leader in the Australian engineering and industrial services market.
