TechConnect World Expo to feature breakthrough technologies


Hundreds of vendors and thousands of attendees will make the TechConnect World Expo in Houston, Texas the largest in the US, as dozens of new clean technology and Nanotech products are unveiled.┬á  The Nano Science and Technology Institute (NSTI) will sponsor Nanotech '09, now in its 12th year. NSTI integrates nano and other advanced technologies through education, conventions, business publishing and research services, and produces Nanotech 09ÔÇÖ as the largest and most prominent nanotechnology event in the world, attracting more than 5,000 nano, micro and bio technology executives.┬á The Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization (CTSI), a non-profit organization that raises awareness to advance global adoption of clean technologies and sustainable industry practices will sponsor Clean Technology '09. The event assembles the entire clean technology ecosystem - including industry, academia and government - to examine the policy issues and future measures needed to promote sustainability and accelerate the flow of energy, water and environmental technologies.┬á The TechConnect Summit ties these events together, through presentations and networking opportunities designed to connect Fortune 500 companies with the academic and research communities.┬á Booths at the event include several breakthrough products and technologies, including Houston Electric Cars, the makers of the Zenn, the Zap, and the Sky which each save 8 to 12 tons of carbon gas per year. ┬á ┬áOther announcements include SmartCool Systems latest efficiency improving refrigeration and air conditioning technology; and Meridian SolarÔÇÖs latest solar electric designs for residential and commercial installations. Spectrum Labs expansion of biomedical products will also be featured, as well as Continental AirlinesÔÇÖ CEO Larry Kellner to discuss the airlineÔÇÖs use of sustainable bio-fuel to power commercial aircraft.┬á The expo will officially open today at 10am, at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The new products and technologies are expected to be unveiled on the show floor Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, where almost 100 journalists will be attending.
