Cooper Standard plans new facility in Romania


Cooper Standard has announced plans for a new manufacturing facility in Craiova, Romania, further expanding its global automotive body sealing and fluid handling businesses.

Headquartered in Novi, Michigan, Cooper Standard is a global supplier of systems and components for the automotive industry. Products include body sealing systems, fluid handling systems and anti-vibration systems.

"This is yet another example of Cooper Standard's strategy to support our global customers as they expand around the world," said chief operating officer Keith Stephenson. "In addition to initially supporting Ford, our new Romanian operations will offer sealing and fluid handling products to our other global customers."

The new site will house manufacturing operations and offices and is expected to employ more than 150 people.

With the addition of this facility, Cooper Standard will operate in 19 countries around the world, including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States.
